A New Friend

Today I'll tell you about our new friend who just happens to be a toaster.
I call him Harvey and here he is in all his glory ...

Harvey the Toaster.

Your experience may be different but for decades I have found toasters to be stubbornly performance-deficient. If it doesn't burn your bread or try to eat it for you, it pops it up merely to a higher level inside the furnace. One of their favorite tricks is shedding their handles. One day we decided we'd had enough of such equipment and obtained what was reportedly the very best toaster money could buy, the very button on toasting-perfection's cap so to speak. The handsome machine presided over our kitchen counter with great stainless steel dignity and it toasted bread magnificently ... on one side.

So you can imagine our surprise and delight to discover Harvey in our residence here. Two slices are toast in twenty seconds. Both sides. He elevates the finished product well out of the ouch-zone. The toast even has criss-crossings on it like a barbequed steak. Harvey, where have you been all my life?

In other news, today we had a horse out our window.
