Charlie

We took a bus to Zihuatanejo today, not to the main supermarket again, but to the town general market area. It is one huge flea market but we found a few things we needed and millions of things we didn't.

After a late lunch back in Ixtapa we came across this enterprising artist (shown below) painting red berries on the vine. He was really quite deft at making the little red circles. He'd do well as an architectural draftsman.

As we neared our condo, there was that skinny white horse hanging about the place again. He was there when we left and there when we got back. I think he gets about as much exercise as our kitchen table. Not the most spirited animal I've ever seen, which may be just as well. I call him Charlie. We have to watch our step as we return home to avoid Charlie's dumplings which he scatters about very unevenly. But he's a likeable beast all the same.

The setting here is growing more agreeable by the day. Just think, within one week we've come to know Handy Landings, Harvey the Toaster, and Charlie Horse. We're surrounded by new friends.

Not to mention Dipsey Doodle the Tree ...
